Here on my blog I will share my journey of self discovery. How I quit my job, sold my condo and left my family in Massachusetts. I will tell you about my experiences on the road, and what I have learned about myself and how this adventure both ruined and saved my marriage. I will also share with you what it was like to live in the Inland Empire of Southern California and how It feels to be back on the East Coast.
In the last year I found myself walking down the South Kaibab trail into the Grand Canyon at sunrise, standing on a glacier in Canada, looking straight into the bottom of the clearest lake in Oregon, mesmerized by the most majestic Grand Tetons, and conquering my fear of heights on the Angels Landing trail in Zion National Park. All of this was done while living in a 31 ft. motorhome with my wife. We traveled for 6 months before we had to settle down for a bit to make some money. We ended up in Southern California (not at all where we expected to be) and every day we asked ourselves how the hell we got there. We knew it wouldn’t be our permanent home but we did not know where we would go next. Luckily, we were open to any possibility. I say luckily because we ended heading back to Massachusetts (also not where we expected to be). The great thing about being open to anything is that everything becomes an unexpected surprise and a new adventure. Whether it is going someplace you have never been or someplace you know like the back of your hand.
